I purchased my 2019 Suzuki V-Strom 650XT Touring new in February 2020, just before the pandemic. It is the first bike that I bought new from a dealership. My previous ride was a used ’94 Kawasaki Vulcan, but that’s another story. Living in Westchester County, NY, the bike was a lifesaver during the first summer of COVID. There is no better way to keep socially distant. I now primarily use it for commuting, with the occasional long weekend ride. This bike has been an incredible experience, delivering versatility, reliability, and comfort.
Design & Performance
The V-Strom’s adventure-inspired styling and rugged build stand out. Its 645cc liquid-cooled V-twin engine produces smooth, ample power for any ride. Suzuki’s Low RPM Assist and fuel injection enhance control, making urban riding and long-distance touring effortless.
Comfort & Features
The upright riding position, well-padded seat, and adjustable windscreen make long rides enjoyable. Suzuki’s Advanced Traction Control boosts confidence, while the digital display keeps essential info at a glance. A 12V power socket adds convenience for charging devices.
Off-Road & Touring Capability
Equipped with spoked wheels, handguards, and extra touring features, my XT Touring model handles light off-road trails well. With a 5.3-gallon tank and ~55 mpg fuel economy, it offers excellent range for adventure seekers.
Final Thoughts
The 2019 V-Strom 650XT Touring blends performance, comfort, and efficiency, making it a fantastic all-around adventure bike. Whether for commuting or touring, I couldn’t be happier with my choice!
